1. I started by making my canvas at 1:1 ratio, then extended it so that I can set my perspective or as you call it "3D space" down properly.
2. Then I placed my mannequin, I modified the process a bit - instead of using a boxy-shape, I used two sorts of squishy bun to represent the ribs and guts. Down below is the process.
3. I integrated this technique from watching one of Proko's videos, where he explained how using this bun or "bean" shape will help bring out more flexibility, especially in a more complex pose. (Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irWRFOI7IV8).
4. I skipped the process of making a silhouette (sorry!), but I still understood the concept and found the whole general idea of achieving that understandability through silhouette is very important. I may have skipped the process, but I took your teaching of the concept to heart.
5. Here is me clothing my figure - winter jacket is just fun to draw! It also helps out to bring the form more into a 3D shape due to the lining that sort of works as a contour line.
6. Background: having established the 3D space early on really helps to make this process easier. I swear I have never been able to draw any background before since perspective murdered me every time. But your simple teaching really helps me to understand it clearly and wrap the whole concept in my head.
7. Touching up, I try to draw a typical Asian store that you'd find (in my case it's my country Malaysia) - reference also helps a lot too.
8. I wanted to bring the lighting from the sunlight coming from outside the store from the front door, hence the arrows to guide me.
9. And this is how it came out! I think this is the first time I'm able to draw a full scene like this, I can't thank you enough for you Tom Fox Sensei!

Docent PlusGreat work on this final project! And thank you for your kind words. I think you really managed to produce a brilliant final piece.
As I say, it is already solid, and I can see you worked hard on it, so I've done you a draw-over which I will link to you here:
Mostly my feedback is to think of the hands and feet. I know those are the challenging parts; so often, people will focus so much on drawing them that they will forget to pose them naturally. Adding angle changes for the feet and hands will help to increase the believability of the pose.
Higher body fat % individuals also tend actually to appear skinnier in certain regions because of the contrast. Make sure that when you draw someone larger, you leave some areas that look extra slim around the trapezius, the clavicle, the ankles, for example.
Anyway, I hope you like the draw over and great job, again!
