Nice portrait!
A couple of tips:
- Try to moderate the use of the black pencil in the shadows, use it to apply an accent of deeper darkness or in a soft way to get closer to the desired general darkness, but try to achieve the shadows with a tone of the color of what it is in shades, in the case of the skin, it uses reddish browns of gradual darkness.
- Remember that the iris is a circle, not an oval or ellipse, with the pupil generally well in its center, imagine the iris that you are drawing complete, considering the areas that are hidden by the eyelid, to verify that they meet that circular condition .
@nestorcanavarro thanks for the advice. In fact, I only use black in the darkest areas. On the skin I used blues and browns. Naturally it looks different, but I will take it into account for the next one, because I will make another. The thing about the pupils is true. I realized that I had a good sketch and as I was painting I lost my orientation and it went away. I have thought of doing another one with a more open plane so that my face is not so big, because I have noticed that it distorts me. Thanks for the directions.
