His son Emiliano, a blend of Mexican and Austrian heritage, ventured into whisky-making in Australia, while Martin's father, Helmut, a retired dentist, pursued viticulture and established a winery in Austria. Inspired by their diverse backgrounds, this remarkable family harnessed their collective expertise to create an exquisite single-variety white wine, honoring the Sulmtal terroir in Southern Austria—a renowned wine region. Defying common practices, we chose to nurture the centuries-old local Welschriesling grape, cherished for its delicate flavor and natural acidity, ideally suited for barrel aging. Embracing a novel approach, we aged our wine in one-time-used tequila barrels, crafted from the finest American oak, subtly infused with the essence of Single-Agave Tequila during a year-long maturation. This innovative technique, inspired by California's esteemed wineries, introduced a new category of wine, exuding an alluring spirituous touch.
