What I loved about the Jurassic Park novel was its emphasis on mystifying the dinos on the mainland. Alas, the product of my itching creativity:
Took to my iPad, opened Procreate, and sketched up some Procompsognathuses.
Fun Fact: My favorite dinosaur in the fossil record, and from the infamous blockbuster franchise, is, in fact, not the Procompsognathus but the Dilophosaurus!
I looked at my artwork, then looked at the 25th Anniversary Edition of the book idle next to me...
I had an idea! Into Adobe Photoshop I went.
Although small and generally innocuous, this creature from the Triassic Period does have a creepiness to it...and a gnashing strength in numbers.
"The lizards scattered into the rainy night, chirping and squealing, leaving behind only bloody three-toed tracks, like birds."
- Michael Crichton, Jurassic Park
It wasn’t your run-of-the-mill basilisk amoratus…it was the venomous Compy.
