First of all, I outline the frame, mark the objects and draw the main character:

Start adding color by painting over the lightest colors first:

Painting without trying to draw everything perfectly. Paint over all objects:

Start adding details and creating moss textures:

Even more details and make the strongest contrast on the main character. Done ^-^

A few more attempts to understand In what color scheme and technique I would like to work on a book. I have had many such attempts, but you can do one or two as soon as you feel that this is what you wanted ;-)
