Thank you very much for teaching us the ghost light technique, Ibai. Let's see what you think of this scene inside a building under construction in Cambodia. Greetings.
As soon as I saw it (and don't ask me why) I thought of a rap video clip from the 90s. The scene / composition has a vibe, the environment so bare and the colors so devious add a haunting and hard point that gives it personality.
It is also true that the phantom light effect is a bit difficult for me to see, I understand that you have fired a flash from the right of the image and (perhaps) another to illuminate the girl? The truth is that I miss a bit a more marked and selective effect (to make me think of ghost light). For testing purposes, I even covered the area where the girl appears with a finger and I think it worked better for me. But boy, here we already enter personal taste. In the same way that if you liked this way of applying phantom light, less marked, more distributed, well you!
To finish, yes, of the whole photo, what seems strangest to me is that kind of greenish stripe that the boy has on top, both the color and the strange fade that he has with the shadow of the building itself leave me something strange . In my humble opinion, without that strip and respecting the black columns that rise from bottom to top, the image would have gained something more in terms of visual coherence. But go, I repeat that we are already in areas of personal taste.
For the rest, I can only encourage you to continue experimenting with the technique in your own way, and if you do it in such exotic places, better than better! So in addition to images to enjoy and comment on, you sharpen our desire to travel!
