The Swiss photographer Robert Bösch is renowned for the purism of his approach, creating works free from digital alteration or embellishment. However, in Not Seen, he embarks on a new experimental journey, exploring the edges of what is seen and not, what are photographs and not, what is real and not. He has developed this process over several years, returning to these experiments again and again.
Our design introduces the visual qualities of this new collection on the cover, using edge printing to wrap the book with a stark signature motif. The endpapers are then extended to provide flashes of vivid colour alongside poetic introductory words from Bösch while the flatbook binding displays each image to full and powerful effect. For a special edition of 30 we created a special acrylic slip case which adds a further layer of colour and lightplay.
