My project for course: Designing Kawaii Worlds: Spread Joy Through Illustration

My idea for this piece was a mermaid and her ocean friends coming together to admire the carefully and lovingly gardened reef they put together, filled with all kinds of different corals and plants. The mermaid holds her hands to her heart as she admires all of their wonderful work.

Becky taught in an easy, relaxed, and knowledgeable way that allowed me to implement her techniques into my own style with ease. It allowed me to create a piece I'm actually really happy with. I'd like to try more traditional kawaii styles as well as I tend to veer more towards a more detailed style. The simpler styles are harder than you'd think!
