My project for course: Creative Portrait Illustration with Procreate

When I started doing this course, I was also coding my 2023 portfolio at the same time, so I was like why not make it a self portrait so that I could also use it on my website!

I started with taking a picture of myself, I then did some sketches and thumbnails. The typography I use in the portrait consist of laurenislorem, which is my instagram handles and the name i work under. There are also some very subtle characters (ㄐㄧㄢˇ ㄒㄧㄣ ㄧˊ) which is my native name in zhuyin.

Finally, I use photoshop to incorporate some ripped paper texture to make my top and finalize everything. (i didn't end up with the floral elements because i don't want them to take away the focus of the typography)
