There are many brilliant things about this sketchnote. It's informative, it's fun and there's variety. My immediate thought was that the cross of Toulouse could itself have provided a really strong structure for the whole sketchnote, containing some of the important information. You had it in your sketches but then scaled it down in the final version - was there a reason for that? Maybe you found that the amount of content you had made it hard to manage within such a rigid structure?
Either way, it's a great job. But I'd say trust your instincts and maybe, if you need to, be ruthless and cut down some of the content.
@scriberia First of all, thank you for your analysis and feedback of my sketchnote.
I tried to put elements in the cross but I gave up for 2 reasons:
1-I couldn't find 4 elements strong enough and representative (or of the same symbolic force) to put them in the cross
2- The shape of the cross which tightens in the center leaves little room: The elements should then have been in "3D" coming out of the cross and I was afraid that this would affect the readability of the sketchnote.
For this kind of exercise, like when I make a drawing, a poster, leaflet, etc... to illustrate a place, an event, a text, etc..., I always tend to put too much and I I find it difficult to eliminate.
......and when I see the sketchnote you made on Picasso, it absolutely did not occur to me to have to remove elements, but rather that I was missing some.
Thank you
