My project for the course: Basic Principles of Graphic Design, consisted of making 3 communication pieces to publicly promote the forthcoming opening of the exhibition by American artist John Baldessari. After collecting information and inspiration about the artist and learning more about the museum that is going to host the exhibition, I dedicated myself to sketching the first ideas that I then downloaded to the grid built in Illustrator. I resorted to hierarchies to give balance and rhythm to the composition, which turned out to be quite symmetrical and uniform. I also used contrast to draw the viewer's gaze to what I considered most relevant, such as the title of the show and the date of the exhibition. Finally, I used the museum's own font "MuseoModerno.tt" in 2 variants, ExtraBold and Light for the secondary data.
I hope you enjoy it and feel free to give me your feedback! Slds.
@rosariozet Rosario was very good! You have used the principles well and also the elements of the branding of the Modern Museum, which is perfect. I prefer the third one, I think it's the best achieved in terms of composition and because it makes me more curious to see Baldessari's work (which is the final goal, so very good!). In the first one, I'm a bit confused that it's just the face that's covered (it doesn't seem to be his work as it is in the third, but I'm not sure), and in the second the photograph isn't as striking.
I hope you liked the course and that you continue on this path. Anything you know where to find me. A hug and thanks!
@chrispierceterry hi! Thank you very much for your comments and for sharing your knowledge and experience, I found them very interesting. I would like to ask you to recommend reading material on Graphic Design that can help me with the creative process and support my design decisions... as much as possible in Spanish :´)
Greetings and thanks!
@rosariozet Hello! This little book entitled "A graphic design project from start to finish" was very useful to me because it sees all the details of any graphic design project. It's not in Spanish, but maybe you can find it. Anyway, here is the Amazon link:
