My 20(ish) Years in London!

I used this course to create a drawing telling the story of my 20(ish) years living in London! (I say 20-ish because it's actually showing nearer 21 years of data but I wanted a nice round number :) ) I also created a detailed legend that can be used to interpret the drawing.

To celebrate this time period I decided to collect data on the following topics:

• My closest friends
  


• Where I lived, studied, and worked
  


• How happy I felt during different time periods in my life.

The aesthetic of this drawing alludes to interwoven threads, where these single threads of people and jobs and places all weave together to create the tapestry of the past 20 years of my life.

After creating this drawing, I also like how I can see parts of my life more clearly!

For example, now I notice how:

• Certain high or low points in my life are tied to specific events
(such as bad work environments, or the pandemic)

• My life has stabilised over time as I've gotten more settled and grown older: I have had the same friends, work and job for years
  


• The yellow pop of colour for friends I have met through becoming a parent really highlights this transition in my life!

This was a fun project as it gave me a chance to reflect on parts of my London life I haven't thought about for many years! I enjoyed looking through old photos and emails and going on a nostalgic tour of my life :)
