I had seen birth and death,
But had thought they were different.
T. S. Eliot
On one morning I was photographing at the tower of the town hall in my hometown. It had been closed for a few months for reconstruction. So it happened that pigeons took over the place, inside out. What was originally meant to be a short visit for nice town views turned to a symbolic cycle of life in front of my eyes through all possible bird scenes. Skeletons, webs, mothers on guard, nests with eggs hatching.
These are hand-made view camera photographs made in a traditional darkroom way, gilded and turned into objects framed with glass and traditional stain-glass lead framing.
