It happens to most of us to lose our moorings at some point in our lives. At those moments we even might need someone to throw us a lifeline and to hold firmly on to the other end while we feel our way along. Back to safety. Until we can fasten our moorings again.
Auk birds nest on the cliff by the sea. Auk eggs were precious and important nutritious source for my ancestors here in Iceland. They risked their live descending of a cliff face by rope to collect these eggs. Courage, a secure rope and a reliable comrade was essential.
The outlines of the slate plates are the outlines of the tiny dots of the auk birds eggs.
The posters of ropes, cliffs and auk eggs along with the slate plates representing the cliff full of food, are designed to honour these brave people of the past. Our ancestors.
